An Algerian man, aged 29 and subject to two obligations to leave the territory (OQTF), is accused of having raped a young woman aged 20 in the Bastide district, in Bordeaux, on Tuesday evening.

The latter, who lives in a tent in a homeless camp with her boyfriend, was leaving a nearby cafe when she was attacked by this individual, according to the Bordeaux prosecutor's office.

Supported by emergency services on Tuesday, she must still be examined by the Emergency Reception Center for victims of assault.

Jail

The suspect, who until then had only been known to the courts in a case dismissed, was still in police custody this Wednesday.

A measure which must be extended at the request of the Bordeaux public prosecutor's office, which plans to open a judicial investigation and request his placement in pre-trial detention.

A blatant rape investigation was opened and entrusted to the Bordeaux national police.
