The AfD has announced the right to sell tricycles with the party logo in the future.
A Berlin lawyer is taking action against it.
Berlin – What connects horse harnesses, tricycles and parachutes?
That's right: the AfD's trademark law.
But not if Berlin lawyer Andreas Lubberger has his way.
He has now submitted an application to the European Trademark Office (EUIPO) for the revocation of three AfD trademarks.
This was reported by
Bild.

AfD online shop: a future cabinet of curiosities
Accordingly, Lubberger accuses the AfD of not seeking serious use of the disputed brands.
He did not comment beyond that to
Bild
.
It is unclear what motivated him to make his application.
The AfD is defending itself: The online shop sells masses of products with the AfD logo.
This has also been proven to the EUIPO.
In addition to classic fan items such as clothing, badges or balloons, various alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, pushchairs, mapping devices and anchor buoys are registered with the trademark office.
However, these more exotic items cannot be found in the AfD's online shop.
The party explains that it is “completely common” to preventively secure the trademark rights to products that are not yet sold.
That's why she assumes that the EUIPO will not grant the deletion request, according to

.
AfD product descriptions with political slogans
Recently, research by Ippen.Media revealed how T-shirts, flags and sweaters with the AfD logo were being sold on Amazon.
The product descriptions included the appropriate political messages.
A political consultant explained at the time that such party advertising was extremely unusual.
In addition, it actually contradicts Amazon's statutes.
The shop has now been deleted and only a few fan items can be found online.

Increasing visibility was probably particularly important for Weidel party supporters after the revelations about the secret meeting in Potsdam.
In surveys, the AfD continued to decline after the ongoing protests against right-wing extremism; it currently has 19% approval, six months before the elections in Brandenburg, Thuringia and Saxony.
In addition, according to research by the
Süddeutsche Zeitung,
the Office for the Protection of the Constitution is apparently preparing to classify the party as a “certain extremist effort”.
However, it is questionable whether blue parachutes can avert the AfD's free fall.
