Former Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang, who was abruptly relieved of his duties last year and has not been seen in public for months, has
“resigned”
from his post as a deputy, according to state media .
Qin Gang, 57, considered close to President Xi Jinping, took over as head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in December 2022. He was relieved of his duties seven months later, a surprise decision for which the authorities did not respond. given no justification.

Qin Gang, however, retained the title of representative in Parliament, a body subject to the ruling Communist Party (CCP).

,” the official Xinhua news agency reported laconically on Tuesday.
This announcement comes before the start next week in Beijing of the annual high mass of the Chinese Parliament, which brings together some 3,000 deputies of the National People's Congress (ANP).
Wang Yi, who before Qin Gang was China's foreign minister, has taken over this post since the latter's ouster.
Wang Yi, also the most senior person in charge of diplomatic relations within the Chinese Communist Party, is as such the true boss of Chinese diplomacy.
