Richard Lewis, an acclaimed comedian known for exploring his neuroses in frenetic tirades dressed all in black, earning him the nickname
The Prince of Pain
, has died.
He was 76 years old.
Lewis, who revealed that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2023, died at his Los Angeles home on Tuesday night after suffering a heart attack, according to his publicist Jeff Abraham.
A regular at clubs and late-night TV shows for decades, Lewis also played Marty Gold, the romantic co-star with Jamie Lee Curtis, on the ABC series
Anything But Love
and the ever-neurotic Prince John in Mel Brooks
Robin Hood: Men In Tights

He was reintroduced to a new generation alongside Larry David in the
