Only the stumps of the linden trees remain.
But there will be replacement plantings and in the end there will be more trees in the city center.

Tree felling work in the city center at the beginning of the week caused a stir.
Erding - Several trees around Friedrich-Fischer-Platz were sawn down and only stumps remain.
When asked by our newspaper, town hall spokesman Christian Wanninger told us that it was Linden.
“They have now been removed because this is only permitted until March 1st due to the breeding season that begins then.” The city wants to avoid not being able to begin the hotly debated redesign of the square because of the trees.
We report that some parking spaces will be eliminated - in favor of a square with several trees to provide shade and, if possible, a water feature or a fountain to cool down the city center.
According to Wanninger, there is no timetable yet.
The next steps are tendering and awarding.
“But the goal is to tackle that this year.” ham
