After Daniela Klette's arrest it becomes clear: the ex-RAF terrorist never really lived in hiding.

An overview of her private life in Berlin.

Berlin - The former RAF terrorist Daniela Klette managed to go into hiding in Germany for almost 30 years despite a nationwide manhunt.

Not only that - under the pseudonym Claudia Ivone, she even built a second life in Berlin that was anything but private.

Instead of living in hiding, she worked as a tutor and danced at Brazilian cultural events.

The now 65-year-old is said to have even maintained a public Facebook profile.

On Wednesday, police officers continued to investigate Daniela Klette's apartment in the Berlin district of Kreuzberg.

It is an inconspicuous, dark tenement house from the post-war period.

Here she lived an inconspicuous life under the pseudonym “Claudia Ivone” and with an Italian passport.

For decades, Kreuzberg was considered a stronghold of the left-wing scene and was known for squats, street battles on May Day and a bar culture.

It almost seems questionable how Klette, as a former left-wing radical terrorist, did not attract attention in this Berlin district.

“The fact that the wanted person was in Kreuzberg is further evidence that Berlin is still a stronghold for a well-networked nationwide and global left-wing extremist scene,” wrote the Berlin police union after her arrest.

Meanwhile, the

spoke to neighbors.

“I lived next to my comrade for years, that doesn't exist,” a neighbor is quoted as saying, who obviously showed sympathy for the 65-year-old.

According to descriptions from neighbors, “Claudia” was a friendly woman with gray hair and often wore a long braid.

To earn money, the ex-Raf terrorist worked as a math tutor.

One student said that she gave him cookies for Christmas.

Apparently none of the neighbors had much more contact with her.

She is said to have been a nice woman during her time in the apartment building, but she was only afraid of the neighbor's dog.

It is not yet known whether she had any other work alongside her job as a tutor.

Daniela Klette's new private life also took place on social networks.

Under the same pseudonym “Claudia” she has a public profile on Facebook, where she even published photos of herself and followed political initiatives.

For example, “Claudia” showed interest in the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, the Alliance Against Racism, Reach Out and Integration Active on her profile.

And her hobbies?

Apparently Klette was enthusiastic about the Afro-Brazilian culture and dance scene.

She shared numerous announcements for workshops and festivals on her Facebook profile.

reporter claims to have found her in public photos of the “Carnival of Cultures” event, where she apparently danced in front of the public in 2011.

In the photo published by the reporter, Burdock is wearing a white and yellow dress and a white hairband, and she is holding flowers in her hand.

Die Welt

also reports

that a little later she had herself photographed during the reading in a Brazilian bookstore.

Public photos of the ex-terrorist are also said to be available from later years.

It is not confirmed whether the former RAF terrorist has ever left Germany in the last 20 years.

A photo is said to provide clues that she may have been at a festival in Brazil.

However, so far this is only a guess.

On Tuesday, Daniela Klette was arrested by the police in Berlin after more than 20 years of manhunt and is currently in custody.

During her inconspicuous life in Kreuzberg, Klette is said to have committed several serious robberies with her accomplices Ernst-Volker Staub and Burkhard Garweg.

In earlier years she may also have been involved in politically motivated acts.

The former left-wing extremist terrorist was a member of the third generation of the RAF (Red Army Faction), which committed several murders until its dissolution in 1998.

Klette himself is not associated with the terrorist group's murders.
