A police spokesman said the cause of the explosion in the man's caravan was still uncertain.
The 77-year-old was taken to hospital on Wednesday, February 28th with severe burns.

Explosion in caravan – cause still unclear
The explosion caused the man's caravan to catch fire and had to be extinguished by the fire department.
The spokesman confirmed there were no further injuries or damage to other caravans or buildings.
The criminal police have initiated investigations into the incident at the campsite near Dennenlohe, a district of the municipality of Unterschwaningen in the Ansbach district.
According to the news agency Vifogra, the fire department's quick intervention prevented anything worse from happening.
Accordingly, the explosion was caused by the deflagration of a gas bottle.
Explosive for the fire brigade: There were additional gas bottles in the caravan.
