Club World Cup
that will be played in 2025 and
will be played every four years

The competition will be very similar to the
World Cup for national teams
with a group stage, round of 16, quarterfinals, semis and final.
32 teams will play it
and
CONMEBOL will have six places
.
This Wednesday, FIFA announced the ranking and the classification method on its official site.
The score obtained between the Copa Libertadores
of
2021
,
2022
,
2023
and
2024
will be taken into account
.
Palmeiras
,
Flamengo
and
Fluminense
are already classified as the champions of the last three editions of the tournament.
The champion of this edition will win a place, while
the other two will be awarded by position in the CONMEBOL ranking
.
By ranking,
only two teams from each country can be classified unless the winning team of the Libertadores is repeated,
as is the case with the three Brazilian champions of the last three editions.
The others that are classified so far are Boca
,
River and Olimpia,
although
the 2024 edition has yet to be played
.
The position in the ranking
is given by the sum of the
points obtained per match
and
the competition points
in the
Copa Libertadores
.
For each game won, three points are added, while a draw grants one.
Then, for accessing the group stage and advancing in the different instances, three points are awarded
.
That is, a team that reaches the final (like Boca last year) scores 15 points.
