The use of the Wolfseehalle has been discussed for years - but what happens there depends on the investors.

The municipality of Fischbachau has now announced an ideas competition for them.

Fischbachau

- The Wolfseehalle has had its golden times for a few years now - but they should come back.

Just when and how was completely unclear until now.

An ideas competition organized by the Regional Development Oberland (REO) is intended to help in the decision-making process for future use: potential operators and investors have until June 30th to submit their suggestions on how they would develop the hall and its surroundings.

In total it's an area of 7,300 square meters - with an open exit.

The interest of citizens was correspondingly high when the competition was presented at the most recent local council meeting in Fischbachau: “So many have not been there for a long time,” said Mayor Stefan Deingruber (CSU) when greeting the audience.

Around 35 guests were eagerly seated next to the council tables.

Trades can also submit suggestions

REO project manager Florian Brunner made it clear right from the start that the tender appeals to you as locals.

The aim is to reach the trades, for example, as a “regional network”: In addition to the hall, commercial and mixed-use areas are also available, which make structural development possible.

At the suggestion of Michael Gartmaier (CSU), Brunner also promised to emphasize even more the possibility of small-structured solutions in outdoor advertising.

Nationally, tourism is primarily to be addressed.

Brunner mentioned ideas for the Wolfseehalle such as a play arena, a climbing facility or general alternatives to bad weather.

“We will address tourism associations nationwide,” announced Brunner.

Of course, not all suggestions can be implemented in the end.

“The investor also has to be suitable,” emphasized Brunner.

The suggestions received should be evaluated before the summer break.

The aim is to develop the area as if it were coming from a single source, but to combine tourism and local use.

This is definitely a challenge, especially in the hall.

“It won’t be that easy to find an investor for the existing building,” announced Brunner.

Commercial and mixed area can be developed

Mayor Stefan Deingruber (CSU) said it was precisely because of this multitude of possibilities that the competition was being held at all.

“We have different ideas, but we have to see which applicants we get.” Of the 28 building plots, 23 have already been sold.

Of the five remaining properties, there are interested parties for two parcels, explained Deingruber.

However, the community has deliberately withheld three larger plots of land.

Deingruber emphasized that they are well connected with electricity, water and sewer, local heating and fiber optics.

This includes a building plot south of the access road that is available as commercial space.

“For example, a warehouse building could be built here,” it says in the competition announcement.

To the east of the Wolfseehalle in the area of the former inn there are mixed areas;

The REO has a gastronomic offer in mind here.

The use of the hall itself is completely open.

This is how the competition works
