A failed overtaking maneuver is said to have led to the accident.
A large contingent of rescue workers rushed to the scene of the accident in Upper Palatinate.
Schwarzenbach - A serious accident occurred in the Upper Palatinate on Tuesday, February 27th at around 8:30 p.m.
The accident happened on federal highway 470 just before Schwarzenbach (Neustadt an der Waldnaab district).
As

reports, three people were injured, including a pregnant woman.
The fire brigades from Schwarzenbach and Parkstein as well as several rescue services rushed to the scene of the accident.

Rescue workers who happened to pass by provided first aid.
After additional firefighters arrived, they freed the pregnant woman.
Her car was completely destroyed in the collision.
The woman and the slightly injured occupants of the second car were taken to a hospital.
The woman and the unborn child are said to have not suffered life-threatening injuries, according to

One of the cars involved remained badly damaged.

Pregnant woman injured in accident in Upper Palatinate: car seriously damaged
As the portal reports, citing the police, an overtaking maneuver led to the accident.
Accordingly, the driver of the Citroën overlooked the oncoming BMW when overtaking.
As a result of the accident, the BMW hit the guardrail several times, the Citroën shot over an embankment into a tree and remained badly damaged.
The B470 had to remain completely closed until around 11 p.m.
The vehicles were recovered by towing services.
The investigation into the exact cause of the accident is ongoing.
