The sixty-year-old considers the house as his own and does not seem willing to leave the accommodation he has occupied since January 3.

An unusual family conflict.

A 67-year-old father has been squatting in his daughter's house located in Gradignan (Gironde) since January 3, 2024. Arriving from China at the beginning of the year, Guoqing Wang goes to his daughter's home located in Gradignan (Gironde) but all the doors are closed.

He then decides to call a locksmith who opens the front door and triggers the alarm system.

When the police arrived, he explained that he was at home and had lost the keys.

Her daughter Jing, who is in Luxembourg, receives a video surveillance alert telling her that an individual has broken into her home.

Realizing that it was her father, “she first tried to reason with him by asking him to leave the premises, in vain,” explains her lawyer, Me Henri-Michel Gata, to Sud Ouest.

She then decided to file an online complaint against her father before going to the Gradignan police station on January 15 to continue the procedure.

If Jing Wang is so keen to kick her father out, and if the latter is so keen to stay there, it is because she intends to sell the five-bedroom house.

The pill is difficult to swallow for the father, who claims to have helped her buy this villa with billiard room and swimming pool which she fell in love with during a trip to France in 2015.

“An unacceptable situation”

This is why Guoqing Wang seems ready to do anything to block the sale, going so far as to dissuade future buyers directly.

“Dear buyers, this villa was acquired thanks to the generosity of parents.

(…) I firmly oppose the sale of this villa.

Disputes exist.

Please consult an attorney to protect your rights.

Thank you for your understanding,” he wrote on a deterrent paper taped to his mailbox.

An “unacceptable” situation denounced by Me Gata, who recalls that “Mr. Wang broke in, had the locks changed and even made a change to the gas subscription in his name”.

He also recalls that his client has not had contact with her father for a long time, statements which the latter refutes, claiming to be very close to his daughter.

Until the court decides whether the father or the daughter is in his own rights, the property is unsaleable.
