Under the motto “Holzkirchen is colorful” a rally for diversity, tolerance and humanity took place in Holzkirchen on Saturday.

Around 1,500 people came to the Herdergarten.

Holzkirchen – “Holzkirchen is colorful” was the motto on Saturday afternoon (February 24th).

The newly founded alliance of the same name, which advocates the protection of democracy and human dignity, invited people to the rally in the Herdergarten.

Around 30 well-known companies, clubs and organizations have now joined the alliance.

Other comrades who would like to get involved under the banner of “Holzkirchen ist bunt” are welcome.

In addition to prominent speakers, the folk band Mountain Lake Vista from Holzkirchen and Bad Tölz and the Miesbach punk rock band Bieramiden created a great atmosphere at the two-hour rally.

Against xenophobia and racism

As Andreas Wolkenstein, spokesman and event manager for “Holzkirchen ist bunt”, said, the reason for the rally was xenophobia and racism, which have reached the district at least since the plan for refugee accommodation at Vivo.

The mood had become extremely tense, to the point where District Administrator Olaf von Löwis even had to be insulted at the citizens' meeting in Warngau.

Christian Springer with a strong statement

“We would like to counter this today with a clear signal of philanthropy,” said Wolkenstein, welcoming the visitors to the rally and announcing the first prominent speaker, the cabaret artist Christian Springer.

He then spoke to Tacheles in a strong statement: “Dear Reich citizens, lateral thinkers and AfDers, I know that a few of you are there, but it's better to go home.

You won't have a nice afternoon with us today." Springer called for people to stand up for democracy "even if it's weak," to resolutely oppose right-wing ideas and "twists of history and facts" and to protect Jewish life: "Of course no one should put you in danger, but please do this in everyday life outside of large rallies.”

With the faction speakers of the Holzkirchner market town council, Anita Gritschneder (Greens), Simon Ammer (SPD), Dirk Kreder (FDP) and Sebastian Franz (CSU) behind him, Mayor Christoph Schmid stepped to the microphone: “A great event and just as much a sign of diversity, Tolerance and humanity." Schmid recalled that citizens from 97 nations of different skin colors, ethnicities and religious affiliations live in Holzkirchen and that they can feel in good hands, respected and at home: "One should always remember the first four articles of the Basic Law, according to which human dignity is inviolable.

This is what has distinguished us from dictatorial, inhumane systems for 80 years.” Democracy, says Schmid, is the best form of government there is and is worth fighting for.

“On this basis, different opinions and a lively culture of discussion are part of it, but please be constructive, unbiased and mutually appreciative,” said the town hall boss, accompanied by loud applause.

The brothers Stofferl, Karli and Michael Well received a lot of, but not unconditional, applause. They gave a rather unconstructive song in song about whether there was only one place for refugee accommodation in the "Graffelgruam" in the "Boomtown Holzkirchen", when the luxury The villa of the Russian oligarch and Putin friend Usmanov on Tegernsee would be free.

Finally, the brothers worked on some harsh criticism of the Bavarian state government and, above all, Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) and his deputy Hubert Aiwanger (FW).

District Administrator Olaf von Löwis in the audience

A relatively large delegation from the “Warngau is human” group was more courageous and committed.

District Administrator Olaf von Löwis said in the middle of the audience: “It’s good to be here and to experience this overwhelming solidarity.”
