The Discover Santa Croce project is back, with a new stage that includes 20 special visits, designed to introduce, first of all to the Florentines, the stories and secrets of the monumental complex, strengthening a deep identity bond with the local community.
The project, which is promoted by the Opera di Santa Croce with the Cr Firenze Foundation, started in October 2022 and has seen widespread participation to date.
The new cycle of free visits, 20 in total on eight different narratives, will take place in the month of March and will culminate on Saturday 23rd and Wednesday 27th with the story of Easter through the works of Giorgio Vasari, Santi di Tito and other artists who in the sixteenth century they depicted scenes from the life of Christ in the side altars of the Basilica.
The new cycle starts on Saturday 2nd with the Great masterpieces, great patrons route, while on Sunday 3rd the Greats in Santa Croce are proposed.
On March 25th, Dantedì day, a special visit is scheduled which allows you to rediscover the indissoluble bond between the Supreme Poet and Santa Croce characterized by the Cenotaph, the monument which represents the first official recognition of the city of Florence to the Supreme Poet.
The visit proposal dedicated to Animals and Fantastic Creatures in Santa Croce, scheduled for Sunday 24 March, is absolutely original.
The visits are free, payment of the entrance ticket to the monumental complex is required, free for residents of the Municipality of Florence.
