Of the 40 CEOs of the companies listed in the Ftse Mib index of Piazza Affari, only one woman.
This is Giuseppina Di Foggia, who has been at the helm of Terna since 9 May.
According to a report by Heidrick & Struggles, "despite the fact that important steps have been taken since the approval of the Gulf-Moscow law and therefore more and more women sit on boards of directors, of the 40 listed Italian companies only 3% are led by a woman".
Furthermore - it is recalled - "for the years 2021 and 2022 there are no candidates to hold this position".
The figure is in line with other European countries such as Germany, with only 3% of women among CEOs, but is decidedly lower than that of France (8%), Finland (13%) and Denmark (13%).
