In the aftermath of the victory of the centre-left candidate Alessandra Todde in Sardinia, the opposition raises its head in Piedmont: "The Region - states the Dem regional secretary Domenico Rossi - is contestable, and the outcome of the Sardinian vote shows that united we can win ".

But the 5 Star Movement, with the regional group leader Sarah Disabato, warns: "Those who hoped for a top-down unity think again, nothing has changed compared to before the Sardinian vote, convergences are not built to beat someone but to offer a project to the citizens".

And then the frost: "The answers we expected from the Democratic Party did not arrive, if not partially, and the steps forward made by the M5s in recent months have not been reciprocated."

Time and national dynamics, however, should bring advice and - once the grievances of Appendino's season as mayor of Turin are over - push for a rapprochement between the two main forces opposed to the centre-right.

The meetings, which have already begun some time ago, will continue in the next few days.

At the moment the Democratic Party has Sel, Europa Verde and the Monviso list on its side, all forces already in coalition in the Regional Council and available to take the field with the M5s.

Outside the council chamber, +Europa and Psi are also in the party.

The Moderates are in the balance, and also Iv, who will be out if there is the Movement.

Out without hesitation Unione Popolare.

As for the centre-right, which has been at the helm of the Region for five years with the Italian governor Alberto Cirio, no one is intimidated by the outcome of the vote in Sardinia.

Because, as the governor himself states, "the center-right is in good health, even if the local elections have logics that can influence the result".

And in the case of Piedmont the conditioning would be positive, since the outgoing governor, running for an encore, is considered a strong candidate.

"In Piedmont - observes the Northern League councilor Fabrizio Ricca - we have worked well and President Cirio has shown that he can govern well for another five years".

A "small bump - adds the Northern League vice-president of the Region, Fabio Carosso - is also good, so we work without taking anything for granted".

As for FdI, councilor Maurizio Marrone underlines that "we must always have respect for the judgment of the voters", but "in Piedmont we feel a solidity of appreciation compared to these years of government, so we are calmer".
