The evenings of Friday and Saturday were a hit at La Grenouille.
However, it is not time for celebration in this restaurant in Saint-Vrain, in Essonne.
Faced with financial difficulties since the closures imposed by Covid-19, the sudden death of the head chef and the lack of staff, this historic establishment in the town (3,000 inhabitants) is in danger.
This is why Steve Choperena, the son of manager Annick Blondelle, has just launched an online prize pool.
“Emergency, let’s save a century-old treasure of Saint-Vrain threatened by destruction,” urges Steve.
A call for help and generosity which aims to pay at least the February rent, in order to avoid permanent closure.
In around ten days, around thirty people have already contributed 1,800 euros.
