A prime example of how to preserve old things and repurpose them in an attractive way: the Raisting schoolhouse from 1842 became a modern town hall and administrative center.

The community development concept is considered a “strategic roadmap” for the future local development of Raisting and should be actively applied and deepened by administration, politics and citizens.

Raisting – Jochen Gronle, qualified engineer and urban planner from the Munich office “Plankreis”, presented the concept with prioritized areas of action that had been developed specifically for Raisting to the council again.

It is about a sustainable improvement in living, housing, working and environmental conditions.

The awareness of the village culture as well as the economic, ecological, social and cultural potential should be strengthened.

The concept includes meetings of the local council, local tours with discussions with citizens and the LE.NA online survey on rural development in Bavaria.

Gronle saw strengths and opportunities in the historically developed settlement area, the well-preserved village structures and the established town centers, which radiate a high level of identity and authenticity.

Raisting is currently an attractive residential location with good conditions in the area with child and senior care, school, club offerings or local recreation opportunities as well as a strong local business.

Densification in Raisting with local standards

As a result, the existing village character with its building and open space structures that characterize the townscape must be preserved.

Any necessary densification must be brought into line with the “scale typical of the location”.

Space-saving use of land and a minimum of sealing should be taken into account.

The high quality of the living environment with housing for all generations must be maintained.

Local businesses should be supported and jobs created.

The historically grown diversity of uses in the municipal area and especially in the village center must be preserved.

Raisting wants to take ecological connections more into account

The unique natural and landscape area as well as the local recreational function must be brought into harmony and the green structures that characterize the townscape must be preserved.

It is important to take greater consideration of ecological connections.

Rainfall runoff should be slowed down and biodiversity and species diversity on municipal and private land should be increased.

The energy supply should be expanded through renewable energy sources with as little CO2 emissions as possible.

The drying out of moorland as CO2 storage should be avoided.

The traffic generated by one's own car must be reduced and the pedestrian and cycle path network must be expanded to be “attractive”.

The range of alternative forms of mobility such as e-mobility and sharing systems should be further developed.

According to Mayor Martin Höck, the community development concept is not a roadmap for the future, but also an important reference work when it comes to applying for funding measures.
