The Mitsubishi Pencil Company from Japan takes over the Heidelberg writing instrument manufacturer Lamy.
The owner family searched for a buyer in a complex process, the company announced on Wednesday.
The process will now be successfully completed with the sale of all shares in the company.
A Lamy spokeswoman did not provide any information about the selling price upon request.
Heidelberg - Lamy was looking for a strong partner to further develop the growth area of digital writing and expand international sales, it said.
The family business, founded in 1930, is one of the leading design brands in the writing instrument sector.
According to its own information, it employs more than 340 people and has sales outlets in over 80 countries.
Lamy was most recently run by the third generation.
