The Court of Assizes of the Court of Varese sentenced Sergio Domenichini, 67, to life imprisonment, accused of killing Carmela Fabozzi, a 73-year-old pensioner, in July 2022.
The murder took place in the woman's home in Malnate (Varese) and the victim was hit several times in the head with a vase on which the defendant's fingerprints were found.
According to the prosecutor's reconstruction, the motive would be robbery: Domenichini, after killing the 73-year-old, took the jewels from the house and then resold them to a gold buyer and thus paid for a beach holiday with his partner.
