Greifenberg - Anyone who was traveling on the A 96 towards Lindau yesterday Tuesday morning was stuck in a traffic jam.
The reason for this was a truck loaded with construction rubble that had a tire burst shortly before the Greifenberg junction - causing it to tip over.
At around 11 a.m., the 23-year-old truck driver from the Landsberg district was on the A96 towards Lindau, the Fürstenfeldbruck traffic police reported.
Shortly before the Greifenberg junction, the right tire on the front axle of the truck burst, which caused the truck with its tipper body to lurch and ultimately tip over.
The loaded construction rubble was spread over the hard shoulder and the right lane.
To recover the truck and clear the road, the right lane was closed until around 3 p.m., causing traffic jams up to the Inning junction.
The truck driver remained uninjured.
The material damage to the highway equipment and trucks is around 60,000 euros.
The Eching, Greifenberg and Inning fire departments were responsible for securing the accident site.
