First of all, pensioners will probably have a little less money in their pockets from March onwards.

However, this could still hit some pensioners hard financially.

Certainty when pension increases
Another innovation ensures that there is a little more money in the account at the end of the month when you retire.
This will not come into effect in March.
We are of course talking about the upcoming pension increase in 2024.
Many pensioners have been wondering for a long time how much more money there is.
The answer to that will now be available in March.
The increase will then only take place in July.
Current estimates of pension increases assume an increase of 3.5 percent.
But there are also experts who expect an even greater increase in pensions.

Another piece of news in March also has to do with the account balance of retirees: specifically, it concerns the payment date.
The payment of the statutory pension in Germany, which will soon also affect those born in 1960, takes place according to a simple deadline rule.
The money is always paid out or transferred to the account on the last banking day of the month.
This will lead to a real curiosity in 2024: pensioners will receive money earlier than they have in more than ten years.
