The Mobile World Congress 2024 in Barcelona comes to life, with Oppo unveiling its new generation of connected glasses, the Air Glass 3. It is a model that brings together artificial intelligence and mixed reality to create a personalized and futuristic experience.

This is a prototype, without a sales date and price yet.

In any case, Oppo has provided some information on the construction and technology present.

The Air Glass 3 are equipped with materials that promise to give the wearer a user experience identical to that of a pair of traditional glasses, when there are no particular needs for interaction with digital content.

In that case, however, the two transparent color displays of which each lens is made come into play, capable of interfacing with the smartphone to show incoming notifications, phone calls and play music.

All this, with the possibility of blending the reproductions with the surrounding environment, to never lose contact with reality.

Inside the glasses there is AndresGpt, a self-trained artificial intelligence that is able to improve dialogue, customization and collaboration between cloud and device also thanks to the over 3,000 patents that Oppo has filed at the end of 2023. In occasion of the MWC, the group also revealed plans to expand its presence in Europe during 2024. "Europe has always been fundamental for Oppo" declared Bingo Liu, CEO of Oppo Europe.

The move comes after an agreement was reached between Oppo and Nokia, which had filed a lawsuit against the Chinese company for the use of some patents on 5G and other mobile technologies.

Following the agreement, Oppo brought its smartphones back to stores in many European countries, the sale of which had been suspended due to the legal dispute with Nokia.

"Our mission remains to offer the best products to European users. We are here to stay, offering more choice in the market" Liu's words.
