The economy in North Rhine-Westphalia is still not emerging from the crisis.

The opposition in the state parliament accuses the state government of being irresponsible.

Düsseldorf - The opposition in the North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament has accused the black-green state government of economic policy irresponsibility in view of the poor economy.

Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst (CDU) is shirking responsibility and sending a “fatal signal” with his warning that the coal phase-out will fail by 2030, said SPD parliamentary group leader Jochen Ott on Wednesday in a current hour on the economic situation.

This would unsettle an entire region and parts of the economy.

“If you fail here, then it will be a failure of the Black-Green Party and the Prime Minister.”

The SPD and FDP also accused the Union of blocking the Traffic Light Federal Government's Growth Opportunities Act for party political reasons.

“The CDU has long ceased to be concerned with the economy and the people in our country,” said Ott.

“All they care about is the Chancellery.” To achieve this, the CDU is ready to play with the future of Germany as a business location.

FDP parliamentary group leader Henning Höne said that the blockade of the Union in Berlin had more than halved the relief provided by the Growth Opportunities Act from seven billion euros to just over three billion euros.

He quoted NRW Economics Minister Mona Neubaur (Greens), who had also criticized the Union: “Anyone who blocks the current situation with obviously pretextual concerns must ask themselves whether it is still about the interests of the German economy or primarily about that own party political calculations.” Neubaur himself did not speak in the debate.

NRW Finance Minister Marcus Optendrenk (CDU) rejected the accusation of a blockade.

SPD-led states have also called for the law to be corrected.

The SPD in the state parliament is conducting a purely “symbolic discussion,” said Optendrenk.

Referring to the traffic lights in Berlin, the minister said that people must be able to rely on the government not making its own problems the country's problems, but rather solving the country's problems.
