Six months before the Paralympic Games (August 28 - September 8), more and more television rights holders are showing interest in the event.
In a press release, Paris 2024 and the International Paralympic Committee announce that the event will be broadcast in more than 160 countries.
Promising figures as the previous edition in Tokyo attracted 154 countries and territories in 2021. Broadcasters' revenues increased by 20% compared to the last edition.
“It is fantastic news that the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will be broadcast in more countries and territories than ever before,” enthuses Tony Estanguet, President of Paris 2024.
The Swiss company Infront Media, already a broadcaster in 2021, has obtained television rights in 40 European countries, a record for the Paralympic Games.
Another first with the live broadcast of the 22 disciplines that will include the international competition while the edition in Tokyo allowed the broadcast of 19 sports.

John Lisko, managing director IPC Global Media Rights, is pleased with the news.
“It’s clear that the sensational improvement in athletic performance we’ve seen over the past decade, combined with the growing depth of talent and competition across all 22 sports, is driving greater interest from viewers and broadcasters who now place even greater value on the Games,” he explains.
