The preliminary design shows many green spaces.

The local councilors have agreed to keep car traffic out of the new residential area northwest of the Rewe market (at the bottom right of the picture) if possible.

Aßling is planning a development area with a roundabout, “Parkstadl”, senior living and daycare for 500 residents: the local council has now made groundbreaking decisions.

Aßling

- The plan for a new district in Aßling is in place: On Tuesday evening, the local council approved both the structural design and the traffic development with a clear majority.

A roundabout will connect the residential area for up to 500 people north of Glonner Straße to the state highway.

According to the draft, the development will be characterized by multi-story apartment buildings, and terraced houses will also be built in the northern part.

Roundabout: balancing act between space consumption and navigability

“The best solution for Aßling” was sought, emphasized Mayor Hans Fent several times during the meeting.

This includes making the roundabout, for which the state road will probably swing slightly to the north, as small as possible.

This was also discussed with the area owners, among whom the municipality is represented by a third: “It's an area, it has to fit.” But the roundabout also has to be accessible for trucks.

The local councilors want as little traffic as possible to flow in the residential area itself.

Mayor Fent calls a planned “Parkstadl” with 170 car parking spaces directly on the state road “very, very important,” which is primarily intended to provide secondary parking spaces in the apartment buildings – “so that cars don’t clutter up the green spaces.”

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Ebersberg newsletter.)

Residential area: Little traffic, plenty of space for children and seniors

Two further planning elements that all of Aßling should benefit from: a spacious daycare area, which should provide the community with reserves for the future of childcare.

And a building that is to be used for senior living, if possible with a day care offer, which the local council expressly wants.

The senior living facility is to be built in the immediate vicinity of the Rewe market.

In the southern part of the area, a building block is planned on Glonner Strasse, into which, according to Mayor Fent, shops, practices or offices could also move in to accommodate some businesses.

However, the area is currently in the preliminary design phase - a lot can still change.
