Scieri, the appeal confirms the acquittal for the former comrade - News

Highlights: Andrea Antico, one of the three former comrades of Emanuele Scieri accused of the murder of the 26-year-old Sicilian paratrooper from Folgore, found dead in the Gamerra barracks in Pisa on 16 August 1999. Prosecutor Luigi Bocciolini had asked for Antico to be sentenced to 17 and a half years. The prosecution however abandoned the appeal, due to the statute of limitations, for two other defendants. Enrico Celentano and Salvatore Romondia, accused of aiding and abetting, were also acquitted in the first instance.

   The acquittal for Andrea Antico, one of the three former comrades of Emanuele Scieri accused of the murder of the 26-year-old Sicilian paratrooper from Folgore, found dead in the Gamerra barracks in Pisa on 16 August 1999, was confirmed on appeal. The trial took place with an abbreviated procedure .

Prosecutor Luigi Bocciolini had asked for Antico to be sentenced to 17 and a half years.



    The prosecution however abandoned the appeal, due to the statute of limitations, for two other defendants who had chosen the abbreviated trial, the former commander of the Folgore Enrico Celentano and Salvatore Romondia, accused of aiding and abetting, who were also acquitted in the first instance.
