Angelo Bracasi, the 45-year-old baker, found guilty of the murder of Alessio Madeddu, the 52-year-old chef-fisherman from Teulada, stabbed to death on 28 October 2021 in front of his restaurant in Porto Budello is known for having participated in Alessandro Borghese's TV show 'Quattro Ristoranti'.
The judges of the Court of Assizes of Cagliari, after more than 3 hours of deliberation, also established a provisional amount of 140 thousand euros in total for the victim's family.
In the last hearing at the end of January, prosecutor Rita Cariello had asked for the accused to be sentenced to 27 years in prison, contesting the multiple aggravated homicide, but the panel took into account the generic mitigating circumstances for the confession immediately after the arrest and for having the entire hearing was skipped as Brancasi's lawyer chose to admit the entire prosecutor's file.
At the origin of the murder there was an alleged extramarital relationship between Alessio Madeddu and an employee, wife of the self-confessed accused.
The report by the medical examiner Roberto Demontis clarified that the chef had been stabbed repeatedly, but also violently hit on the head with a blunt object - an ax had been found at the scene of the crime - and then run over by Brancasi's car.
