Although many revolutions took place throughout the country during the last night, there were no particularly big surprises in the big cities.

As expected, in Jerusalem, Beer Sheva, Rishon Lezion, Petah Tikva and Ashdod the current mayors won the trust of the voters, while in Tel Aviv Huldai is now safely leading Orna Barbibai on the way to another term and completing a sixth consecutive term in office.



In Tel Aviv, after counting more than half of the votes, Ron Huldai is leading with about 50% support, compared to 38% of the votes for Orna Barbibai.

The counting of the votes so far indicates a great victory for Huldai alongside Assaf Zamir, his designated successor as the next mayor.

In Jerusalem, Moshe Leon won by a large margin of 83.1%, thus defeating his deputy Yosef Havilio, who won only 16.9% of the votes.

In Be'er Sheva Rubik Danilovich was the only candidate, and received 96.6% of the voters' votes, alongside 3.4% who voted against him.

In Petah Tikva, the incumbent Mayor Rami Greenberg will continue for a second term in office, after receiving 87.1% of the votes.

He was contested by Anat Zanzori and Kenadi Borshavski, who won 6.7% and 6.1% of the votes respectively.

In Rishon Lezion, the current mayor, Raz Kinstlich, won over 90% of the votes.

His opponent Avshalom Yitzchak had 7.9% of the votes of the voters in the city.

In Ashdod, the battle was less one-sided, when Shihiel Lesri, the mayor from 2008 won 48.4% of the votes and will serve another term as mayor.

The main contender against him, Helen Gelber won 19% of the votes, with Shimon Katznelson getting 13.5% and Nacht Eli getting 12.1%.
