At Giovanni Zarrella, Roland Kaiser presented himself at his best.
But one thing was obviously bothering the pop star: his trouser fly.
Offenburg – Only a few singers have had such a lasting impact on German pop music as Roland Kaiser (71).
Hits like “Santa Maria” or “Joana” and over 90 million records sold speak for themselves.
So it's no wonder that the successful singer was honored for his achievements on Saturday evening (February 24th) in his own ZDF anniversary program ("Giovanni Zarrella presents: 50 years of Roland Kaiser").
Pants problems: Roland Kaiser always has to lend a hand in the Zarrella show
Giovanni Zarrella (45) welcomed the pop star in Offenburg, Baden-Württemberg, where Roland Kaiser had an unforgettable, but controversial, anniversary for some viewers.
High-profile guests such as Maite Kelly (44), Kerstin Ott (42) and Thomas Anders (60) were supposed to give the “To Love You” interpreter an all-round successful evening.
It goes without saying that the person celebrating his birthday didn't want to expose himself - even if his outfit didn't always go along with this project.
Because one problem seemed to plague Roland Kaiser again and again over the course of the three hours: the worry that his fly was open.
In fact, the pop star repeatedly fiddled with his pants in seemingly unseen moments until everything was as desired.
Roland Kaiser and the SPD
The pop star is considered a convinced social democrat and has been a member of the SPD since 2002.
Roland Kaiser has had good relations with Germany's oldest party for a long time.

Over the years he has repeatedly shown himself to be active: in 2005 he campaigned for the then Chancellor Gerhard Schröder, and in 2017 and 2022 he took part in the 16th and 17th Federal Assembly at the suggestion of the SPD parliamentary group in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
However, the Berlin native has ruled out a political career.

The trouser fiddling became particularly noticeable shortly before the appearance of Bundestag President Bärbel Bas (55).
The SPD politician was announced in a short clip, after which she was welcomed by host Giovanni Zarrella and guest of honor Roland Kaiser.
After getting up from the studio sofa, the latter visibly fiddled around with his crotch for a few seconds in order to properly confront Bärbel Bas.

Is everything in place?
Roland Kaiser made sure several times in his anniversary show that his fly was not open.

However, the 72-year-old skillfully covered up the fact that his pants caused one or two problems for the pop star.
In that scene, however, he only discreetly turned away from the camera after he had already placed his hand somewhat clumsily.
Another scene also caused a stir: Kerstin Ott confronted Roland Kaiser about his suggestive song lyrics.
