You founded a start-up.
Olching – Kathrin Schmah (33 years old) has two children aged two to six and Tine Kirchner (35) three, two, eleven and 14 years old.
Together they came up with an idea and founded the start-up Feierglück.
The Tagblatt wanted to know what it was all about.
When did the idea of founding the start-up come about?
At the beginning of 2023, at one of our children's birthday parties, we noticed how difficult it is to find beautiful and sustainable decorations.
Since we always sewed little things for our children, we came up with the idea of making the decoration ourselves using fabric.
We had fun with it and noticed how much less or even no trash we had after the party.
This motivated us to offer our idea to other parents and give out theme boxes.
The decorations include napkin rings: are these common at a children's party?
Probably not, but just as our idea with the motto boxes is new, the decoration can sometimes include something different than usual.
And so that the motto can be found in the table decoration as often as possible, we came up with the idea of napkin rings.
They use glass bottles instead of plastic cups. Doesn't that pose a risk of injury?
Good sustainable materials are very important to us and, above all, to teach our children how to treat them with respect.
Of course we are aware that something can break, but that hasn't happened yet.

We only offer our motto boxes for rental.
Because an important point for us is sustainability.
From my own experience, the children's birthday theme changes from year to year.
It is practical for the parents if they can return the decorations at the end.
