The participants in the mini laboratory present their results in the museum.

A hands-on event will take place on March 10th at the old Floßlände.

Wolfratshausen – The Wolfratshausen Museum is intended to establish itself in the medium term as a “transformation laboratory” for the development of projects to revitalize the city center (we reported).

So much for theory.

Now, according to city manager Dr.

Stefan Werner developed initial ideas in two “mini laboratories”.

These will be presented as part of a special exhibition in the new museum at Untermarkt 10.

The transformation laboratory is a funding project of the Donors' Association for German Science.

Loisachstadt applied together with the Munich University of Applied Sciences for inclusion in the program - and was awarded the contract.

“The aim of the funding program is to strengthen the universities, together with a partner from the region, as active and competent designers of socially transformative processes,” explains Werner.

The municipality's cooperation partners are the “Innovation Network for Strategic University Development at Munich University of Applied Sciences” (HM UniverCity) and the Technology Transfer Center for the Oberland (TIZIO) in Bad Tölz.

The museum, which opened in February 2023 with the adjacent shop café and the city tourist information center, has developed into a “central and identity-forming place,” said the city manager.

“With additional functions of a transformation laboratory for future topics, we are making the Wolfratshausen Museum even more of a central meeting place and pivotal point in the center of our city.”

This was also a task for the participants of two “mini laboratories” in the past few weeks.

According to information from our newspaper, they developed, among other things, concepts for increasing the attractiveness of the eastern Loisach bank.

All details will be presented to the public in the Wallner Bockhorni Cabinet in the museum from Saturday, March 9th (until March 31st).

The opening begins at 11 a.m.

As part of the special exhibition, “those interested can find out about the process of the transformation laboratory and the diverse ideas that emerged from the work of the mini laboratories for inner city revitalization and contribute their opinions and their own ideas,” explains city manager Werner in a press release.

The mini laboratories have also organized an action day for Sunday, March 10th (12 p.m. to 5 p.m.) - including numerous hands-on activities at the old raft area.

“We are pleased that the participants’ ideas are now concrete, tangible and visible and that we were able to create a format with the transformation laboratory that enables the development of these common ideas,” says Werner.

In this context, the city manager would also like to thank the students of design and social sciences at Munich University of Applied Sciences: “The different perspectives resulted in an intensive exchange that resulted in many concrete and easily implementable ideas.”

Werner sketches an example: “Sitting together in a group on tree stumps at the old rafting site, enjoying the evening twilight and someone authentically and passionately tells a story - everyone listens intently.” This is one of the action ideas that was born in the mini laboratory be.

In addition, the participants addressed the question of how opinions, wishes and personal initiative can be incorporated into the process.

The result is a wish post, reports the city manager, in which “nails can be made”, i.e. an idea can be nailed to a wooden trunk.

Werner also announces “a bulletin board with a bid-exchange exchange”.
