France 2 gave the floor to three alleged victims in the investigative magazine broadcast on Thursday. An embracing portrait of the psychoanalyst, today the subject of a preliminary investigation.

Deconstructed,

Gérard Miller

?

We bet that he could have supported him when, in “C this evening”, on January 10, he made amends for the

“male domination”

of his old peers:

“After MeToo, we who had thought we were ultra-revolutionaries

(after May 68, Editor's note)

understood that we had contributed to perpetuating a system, which notably wanted male desire to predominate over female desire.

His words today take on a particular resonance, to say the least.

After the “Additional investigation” into Gérard Depardieu which caused a stir in December 2023,

“Special Envoy”

took up the case which implicates Gérard Miller.

And paints an embarrassing portrait of him.

An investigation carried out promptly since the first testimonies, relayed in Elle

magazine

, date from the end of January.

Others were added immediately, still in

Elle

then in Mediapart.

Hypnosis sessions

In all, around fifty women, making more or less serious accusations, criticized the psychoanalyst's behavior.

“Special Envoy” identified ten complaints.

Several of them, filed by women who were minors at the time of the facts, may not be time-barred.

This is the case of Charlotte, 14 years old at the time, who we see in the film going to the police station.

In the newspapers as in the France 2 magazine, the alleged victims describe the same modus operandi.

When they did not contact him themselves for school work, it was the psychoanalyst who made contact with them.

Often after a television show.

He offered them, they claim, hypnosis sessions.

An appointment was made in his Parisian home - “Special Envoy” could have avoided providing information on his location.

More precisely, in a room with Japanese decorations.

The host, according to the memories of the young women, then began a massage.

No doubt they would have thought, and hoped, to bring out their diary in other circumstances.

But these notes taken when they were not twenty years old can perhaps be used today in the work of justice.

Romane (first name has been changed) rereads hers in front of the France 2 camera:

“He told me to lie down on his bed, I was embarrassed but seeing the therapeutic aspect of it, I played the game. He told me to close my eyes and imagine myself on the sand.

As he told his story, he caressed my whole body.

»

Aged 19 in May 2003, she met Gérard Miller as part of her studies.

A preliminary investigation opened

The witnesses interviewed here recount the ambiguity created, not only by the notoriety of their interlocutor, but also by his position as a therapist.

“For me, it was the doctor’s hands that touched me, not those of the pervert

,” Romane reads in her diary.

“I was impressed by his aura, his knowledge

,” she added twenty years later.

With this academic, successful essayist, regular guest of Michel Drucker and figure of Laurent Ruquier's band on radio and television, there existed a form of

“dissymmetry”.

The terms are from Gérard Miller himself.

The psychoanalyst, who through his profession could not pretend to ignore it anyway, recognized the existence of an

“unequal relationship”

at the end of January, in a letter sent to

Libération

, with these women.

While ensuring that they have never gone beyond their consent.

A preliminary investigation was opened on February 23 for facts

“likely to be qualified as rape and sexual assault, sometimes against minor victims”

.

To establish the guilt or innocence of Gérard Miller, the police will have to focus more specifically on hypnosis, which is at the heart of this affair.

This technique, popular with therapists, the magazine verifies with a specialist, is likely to lead to a certain loss of control.

For his part, the LFI traveling companion swears to have never resorted to it with his accusers.

One of the complainants, Aude G., also speaks through her lawyer of a possible

“chemical submission”

.

On TV sets

In addition to the three testimonies collected, already known in part, the journalists investigated behind the scenes of the show “On a tout être” (hosted by Laurent Ruquier on France 2).

Gérard Miller participated in the 2000s. Twenty-eight former collaborators or technicians explain that he then

“made his market

among the public”

.

Without trying to accuse or overwhelm him, the former columnist and feminist activist Isabelle Alonso recently delivered this enlightening description in a text published on her site:

“He had the typical behavior of the post- sixty-eight years of systematic flirting, carrying a one-way sexual revolution.

»

The psychoanalyst clearly did not hide this attitude.

The heavy flirting therefore did not escape the other members of the show, who also made fun of Gérard Miller on this subject.

But according to Christine Bravo, a pillar of broadcasts from the Ruquier era who spoke in

Le Parisien

before the broadcast of the “Special Envoy”, nothing more reprehensible took place before the eyes of the gang. columnists, often friends in town.

“We were all aware of Gérard's flirtatious behavior and we openly made fun of him

,” the former host of “Union Libre” on France 2 recalls in the daily newspaper.

But none of us were in his office!

I was never aware of such facts, fortunately, because I would have been rightly indignant.

We have never suspected such scandalous actions.

If they were true, I would be truly appalled!
