A teacher who works in a public nursery school in the town of Gex, in Ain, is suspected of having hit her students.
After several reports from parents and staff of the school in question, the Bourg-en-Bresse public prosecutor's office indicated to Le
Figaro
that it had opened a
"preliminary investigation into the charge of violence against minors aged 15, by person in charge of a public service mission during the exercise of his duties in an educational establishment"

“I made a first report to the school. My son was no longer himself. He was terrified, he came home with bruises and bites. I said to myself: “What the hell is going on?”
One evening, he told me: “Mom, the teacher is hitting me” (…) One day, my husband went to look for him and found him with different clothes than in the morning.
His sweater in his bag was stained with blood.
He had an open and injured lip
,” the mother of a student told the regional daily.
Several other parents have reported similar facts regarding their children.
“Tensions” in the school
Contacted, the Lyon academy on which - the Ain department depends - indicates
"that tensions between the school director, municipal staff and the parents of students [to them] were reported some time ago time"
.
The district's National Education Inspectorate then intervened to calm the situation.
“No acts of violence have been reported to us
,” the academy continued at that time.
However,
"in view of the new facts, an internal investigation was launched"
, she added, explaining also that she had
"approached the judicial authority to assess whether there is reason to take a measure of suspension of the person concerned upon return from vacation

The judicial investigation was entrusted to the Gex gendarmerie brigade in order to verify the materiality of the facts denounced and their extent.
