Coburg's tourism numbers rose to a record high in 2023.
This makes the Upper Franconian city the front runner in Franconia.
The tourism strategy is having an impact.
Coburg – There is reason to be happy in the Upper Franconian city of Coburg: the independent city can record 156,628 overnight stays for the year 2023.
This corresponds to an increase of 24.1 percent compared to the previous year, as the Bavarian State Office for Statistics explains in its annual tourism report.
This means that the city stands out from all other cities in Franconia and becomes the Franconian leader.
Because no other city in Franconia can record growth of over 20 percent.

And optimism is also in order for the new year.
By expanding local public transport, the city hopes to attract even more day visitors, as it explains in its press release.
In addition, the new tourist information should make tourism in Coburg more attractive.
It remains to be seen whether the Upper Franconian city will be the Franconian leader again in 2024.
