Grafenwöhr - The US armed forces have announced a large, multi-week maneuver for mid-May at the Grafenwöhr military training area in the Upper Palatinate.

The Amberg-Sulzbach district office announced this on Thursday, February 29th.

In May and June: US forces announce major maneuvers in Grafenwöhr

The authority announced that around 1,500 NATO soldiers will train with over 650 wheeled and tracked vehicles and 50 helicopters from May 13th to June 11th.

Some of the training also takes place at night.

As part of the exercise, logistics convoys, artillery, field posts, maneuver ammunition and pyrotechnics are used.

The exercises will affect communities in Upper Palatinate and Middle Franconia.
