The Elbach fire department had to deal with around 30 missions last year.

Commander Andreas Bolz reported at the general meeting about five fires and 25 technical assistance calls.

Elbach

– The storm and hail storms in the summer caused a lot of work for the volunteers, said Bolz.

The number of missions for primary medical care has also increased again.

The fact that patients here can rely on competent care is shown by the further training of six Elbach comrades in a 40-hour first aid course last year.

All in all, 308 hours of operation were totaled, the commander concluded.

The Elbach fire department is also well equipped in the area of respiratory protection.

The responsible Florian Vitzthum pointed out an above-average number of active people in this area.

Looking back on a memorable festival week

The fact that the fire fighters were actively deployed in 2023 outside of the alarms was mainly due to “Elbach celebrates”.

As reported, the troupe teamed up with the Gaufest der Trachtler to celebrate its 125th anniversary and set off a fireworks display that radiated far beyond the Leitzachtal.

Festival director Benedikt Bacher – himself an active firefighter – could still see the enthusiasm when he looked back.

Mayor Stefan Deingruber took the opportunity to once again thank the municipal fire departments for the “outstanding cooperation” between themselves and “beyond the fire department’s borders”.

And for their constant willingness to help others in need.

A praise that district fire chief Christian Probst was happy to share on behalf of the entire fire department district leadership.

Honors

The following deserving Elbach firefighters were honored at the general meeting by Commander Andreas Bolz, Chairman Hans Fichtner, Mayor Stefan Deingruber and District Fire Chief Christian Probst: Martin Koller (ten years of active service), Christian Fichtner and Andreas Greinsberger (20 years each) as well as Johann Fichtner and Florian Vitzthum (25 years each).
