At the district's job fair in Taufkirchen, companies and applicants came together in a unique way.

A perfect opportunity for people looking for a job or a training position, but also for companies that can present themselves here.

Taufkirchen

– Juliander Gall likes mustard.

This is a good prerequisite if you work for a mustard manufacturer.

But many people don't know what's behind Develey.

“People ask me at the trade fair what we do,” says the 21-year-old and laughs.

There are lots of mustard jars on his stand.

But ultimately he is there to answer all questions.

Four years ago, Gall was still on the applicant side.

The industrial clerk now sifts through applications, designs flyers and represents the Unterhaching-based company at trade fairs.

Like now at the district’s sixth job fair in Taufkirchen.

More than 600 open positions

Visitors were able to find out about more than 600 open positions at the job fair in Taufkirchen in the culture and congress center.

Not only companies from the entire district, but also companies from Munich and the metropolitan region, the education office and the job center of the Munich district were at the start.

On the first day the fair opened its doors to all job seekers, the second day was aimed at school leavers looking for training.

Now he answers all questions about the “Develey” company at trade fairs.

Fun and variety: Trainees want to stay in the company after their apprenticeship

Maximilian Börner (17) and Elias Kappen (18) are currently in their second year of training at the tool manufacturer “Spinner” in Sauerlach.

During their internship, the two of them realized that being an industrial mechanic was exactly the right thing for them.

They now want to convince others of this at the job fair in Taufkirchen.

“No two days are the same,” says Kappen.

“I like the variety.” Trainer Markus Oetter (24) has been at the factory since July.

“We make machines that produce things for everyday life.” Oetter lifts his foot and taps the soles of his shoes.

The company has 50 trainees this year.

In addition to industrial mechanics, “Spinner” trains mechatronics engineers, cutting mechanics and electronics engineers.

One thing is certain for the next generation: they want to stay in the company after their apprenticeship.

Office job?

For no money in the world

A few stalls away, landscape gardener Jens Krüger (23) also found his dream job at “Endlich Garten- und Landschaftsbau” in Sauerlach.

“I like being outside in nature and working with my hands,” says the journeyman.

Even after work, he still has to take care of his own garden.

He loves “muddling around” there.

He wouldn't trade his father's office job for any money in the world.

Further training would also offer him opportunities for advancement.

The horticulturist currently has eight trainees.

Colleague Leon Siebenhaar (23) from the workshop will be training a mechanic from September.

The company maintains all of the equipment itself: 20 excavators, 13 wheel loaders and hundreds of tools are waiting for skilled hands.

Speed dating gives you courage

One floor up in the community library, Yaro Faaqi spreads out his letters of motivation and certificates in front of Anna Simmel.

The 18-year-old wants to apply for training as a retail clerk at Edeka Simmel.

During speed dating at the job fair, he has his first conversation with his potential employer.

“I worked at Lidl while I was at school,” says Faaqi.

“I enjoyed customer contact.” Simmel looks at the documents and listens.

“That sounds like a solid basis.” She explains what the three-year training will look like.

Faaqi is excited.

Now all the school leavers have to do is submit the application.

Kim-Kelly Binder (28) sits one bookshelf away.

The Munich native completed her business studies with a focus on marketing.

Now she wants to start working for the retailer “Bergzeit” from Otterfing.

“I’m a passionate hiker myself,” says Binder.

Mountain equipment and marketing would be the main prize.

Human resources officer Anne Hartmann listens to Binder's career.

Judging by the look on her face, the 28-year-old doesn't have a bad chance.

So Binder can hope.
