Highlights: According to the latest rumors, Meta could unveil its next generation glasses during the Meta Connect event, scheduled for this autumn. According to the Business Insider website, the giant led by Mark Zuckerberg has already developed a device internally, code-named "Orion", which some employees are using and testing. The lenses could in fact mount small integrated screens to reproduce the contents coming from the smartphone, a bit like the Oppo Air Glass 3 prototype shown at the Mobile World Congress fair in Barcelona. After Apple, the race for augmented reality devices has started again.

According to the latest rumors, Meta could unveil its next generation glasses during the Meta Connect event, scheduled for this autumn.

However, marketing would take place later, in 2027.

According to the Business Insider website, the giant led by Mark Zuckerberg has already developed a device internally, code-named "Orion", which some employees are using and testing.

To date, there are two glasses with the Meta brand, the Ray-ban Stories, developed together with ExilorLuxottoica.

However, these are only partly technological models, given the presence of two audio outputs and a camera for capturing photos and videos to be managed via the app.

The idea behind the Orions would be different and more innovative.

The lenses could in fact mount small integrated screens to reproduce the contents coming from the smartphone, a bit like the Oppo Air Glass 3 prototype shown at the Mobile World Congress fair in Barcelona.

That Meta is moving in the sector is evident from the tour that Zuckerberg himself is undertaking in Asia, to meet companies that also develop mixed reality content.

The news of a collaboration between Meta and LG to create an ecosystem of digital applications and experiences, mainly based on entertainment, is recent news.

"We believe that next-generation personal devices in the Extended Reality sector are a great business opportunity" said LG's CEO, Cho.

Returning to the glasses, the sources state that their development is still at the beginning, so much so that Meta could give a taste of them in the autumn, perhaps with a preview of a dedicated artificial intelligence, even if for the arrival in the shops they would have to be wait another three years.
