Although King Charles was unable to attend King Constantine II's memorial service in Windsor, he sent a hidden greeting to his cousin.
Windsor – Constantine of Greece (82, † 2023) was buried in February 2023.
King Charles (75) and Prince William (41) could not be there in Athens.
Another memorial service for Constantine II in Windsor was postponed from January to February to give the British monarch time after his cancer diagnosis.
But Charles III.
couldn't be there but was spotted in London the same day.
Only at second glance did his great concern show up as a sign in his outfit.
King Charles' tie pattern was seen as a loving gesture to his Greek cousin
Queen Camilla (76) held the fort with Princess Anne (73) at the memorial service and attended the grieving widow, Greek relatives and international guests such as King Felipe (56), Queen Letizia (51) and ex-King Juan Carlos (86 ) and ex-Queen Sofia (85) in reception.
At the ceremony, the Queen received 23 members of the wider British royal family and 37 European royals.

King Charles III
had left Windsor Castle on the morning of the memorial service and was seen waving in front of his residence in London, where he also spent the night.
Wearing a dark coat, a dark blue suit and an elegant white shirt, the Regent left his residence in a car.
Attentive observers did not miss the fact that Greek flags were “fluttering” on the monarch's tie, apparently a final salute to the late cousin Constantine or his father Prince Philip (99, † 2021), to whom Charles owes his Greek roots.
Former cabinet minister David Davis strongly criticized Charles' choice of tie
Davis ranted to

: “The truth is, the king obviously has an opinion on a lot of things, we know that.
But the truth is that as a king you have to curb these views.
You have the opportunity to personally express your opinion to the Prime Minister once a week, no one else has that.”
Asked whether it was right to wear the tie during an argument over the Elgin Marbles, Davis told GB News: "I think he was incredibly unwise."
He added that he feared it was an abuse of office.

The tie is not without controversy.
Charles wore them once on stage at the COP28 climate conference in Dubai, where he delivered a fiery speech to nations in the fight against climate change.
Former MP David Davis (75) described the king's choice as "incredibly unwise" because he also presented the flag-draped neckband in a conversation with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak (43).
A few days earlier, Sunak had refused a meeting with his Greek counterpart Kyriakos Mitsotakis (55) about the controversial Elgin Marbles (Greek marble sculptures and fragments, some of which can be seen in the British Museum in London, far from their homeland).
The monarch could be seen smiling gently as he looked out of the car and sat in the back seat as the vehicle made the short journey to Buckingham Palace.
Queen Elizabeth II (96, † 2022) had already mastered statements using subtle messages.
The monarch is not entitled to make political statements, but in the parliamentary monarchy they are left to the government.
