In many regions the warning strikes will only begin in the next few days - in Saarland the buses are rolling again.
The union and employers agree on a new collective agreement.
Saarbrücken - Employers and the Verdi union have agreed on a new collective agreement for local transport in Saarland.
This means that further strikes are off the table, Verdi announced on Wednesday.
According to information from the Saar Municipal Employers' Association (KAV Saar) on Wednesday, the agreement reached the day before provides, among other things, for inflation compensation payments of 1,000 euros and the transfer of the collective agreement for the public service from June 1st.
A Saturday surcharge and a sick pay subsidy will also be introduced.
The annual special payment increases from 85 percent to 100 percent of a monthly salary.
According to the information, the collective agreement will come into force retroactively to January 1st and will run until December 31st, 2025. The new wage scale will run until the end of 2027.
Verdi had announced a wave of warning strikes in local public transport in all federal states except Bavaria this week.
It started in Saarland, among other places.
The main nationwide warning strike day should be Friday.
