After TSV Gernlinden, the neighboring tennis club has also found a new operator for its gastronomy.
Gernlinden - Olching's former mayoral candidate Michael Maier and his wife Silke take over the restaurant, which has space for around 70 guests.
There is also a terrace and the forest lake is within sight.
Came to stay
“This will be our retirement home,” announces the new landlord, which to the 49-year-old sounds like: We have come to stay.
At least the name of the sports bar has remained: The “Match” starts under the new management on March 1st and is open all week long from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. without a day off.
The beer is supplied by the Munich Hacker-Pschorr/Paulaner group.
The new tenant describes the food on offer in his restaurant, which is open not only to club members but also to the general public, as “good middle class”.
Plenty of experience
Michael Maier was most recently employed at the Maisach brewery, but has also gained plenty of experience in the catering industry as an independent entrepreneur.
He was the club manager of SC Olching for almost three years and then ran the now closed cult bar “Die Zwoa am Dom” together with his football specialist Reinhold Miefanger.
The trained media designer has also managed a beverage store.
In 2020, Maier ran as the Greens' mayoral candidate in Olching.
He gave up his city council mandate last year.
The TC Gernlinden has around 360 members and takes part in league games with 30 teams in the summer.
In addition to a three-court court, the tennis park also has an air dome with four badminton and two tennis courts.
