For more than 20 years, the “Peißenberg Cultural Association” has ensured that the Tiefstollenhalle is filled with cultural life.

The club is now looking for supporters so that there will be many more years of culture to experience in Peißenberg.

Peißenberg – When it came to finding candidates for the next board election, it became clear to those responsible: The “Peißenberg Cultural Association” urgently needs young talent.

“It took us quite a long time to find volunteers for the board,” says Stefan Hartmann, who is currently the second chairman of the cultural association.

In addition, most of the club's members are no longer very young and it is important to get younger people excited about working in the club.

Otherwise, in his opinion, there is a risk that at some point the club will no longer be able to ensure that culture takes place in the deep tunnel hall.

“Culture thrives on people getting involved,” says Hartmann.

Culture thrives on people getting involved

In order to attract young people to join the cultural association, those responsible have also put out a call on the homepage: In 2023, the Peißenberg cultural association will celebrate its 20th anniversary.

“But its cultural offerings are by no means outdated.

But very much so with its staff, who work on a voluntary basis.” The club would like to rejuvenate its team, it says.

Anyone interested in culture is welcome.

According to the homepage, there are various areas in which interested parties can get involved.

There are enough opportunities to work for culture in Peißenberg both as a board member, as an advisory board member, as a helper, and as a member.

Hartmann himself has been a member of the cultural association for three years and enjoys working there so much that he can recommend it to anyone who has an interest in culture.

He particularly likes the diversity of volunteer work.

From creating the program to organizing the event, to the technology, to tidying up the chairs, you can take part in everything.

The entire range of events

The entire spectrum of events can be experienced by working in the cultural association.

“You have the opportunity to get a taste of the cultural scene and get a look behind the scenes.” It also allows you to get to know a wide variety of people: artists you would otherwise never have come into contact with, their managers – and the fellow members of the club.

Another advantage of being a club member is that you can experience various events in this way - and all without paying an entrance fee.

“I’m always happy when there are events in the Tiefstollenhalle,” says Hartmann.

The association has designed a poster that can also be found on its homepage: “Culture needs you!” it says.

Anyone who has good ideas, is creative and likes to organize is welcome.

In order to appeal to as many people as possible, it is not necessary to join the club.

Helpers who are not club members are also welcome, says Hartmann.

Artists are excited

It is also about securing the cultural association and thus cultural life in the Tiefstollenhalle in the long term, said the second chairman: “We are in the process of collecting ideas on how we can shape the future.”

It is important to his club colleagues and him that this historic hall is not left culturally orphaned: “The hall that we can play in is so beautiful.

The artists are always thrilled – also by the support,” says Hartmann.
