The Enzelhausen firefighters discussed at the annual general meeting how their voluntary commitment should be financially rewarded in the future.
Enzelhausen
- A huge celebration for the big anniversary "150 years of the Enzelhausen Volunteer Fire Department", over 50 missions, extremely committed youth work and almost 5,000 hours of volunteer work from the support association: The year 2023 was certainly a demanding one for the Floriansjünger in Enzelhausen (municipality of Rudelzhausen). .
At the annual general meeting, the highlights were looked back on, but a change to the statutes was also initiated.
The board's commitment should be financially rewarded more strongly.
Looking back at the anniversary year: operations during the festival
The highlight of 2023 for the Enzelhausen fire department was the 150th anniversary celebration from August 25th to 27th - despite the heavy rain event at the same time.
They had to go out on 16 missions during the anniversary, but according to the support association chairman Erwin Traublinger, there were countless unforgettable moments - such as the parade, which had to take place in the tent because of the rain.
A total of 4,825 hours were worked by the 111 members of the support association last year, which was an incredibly great achievement for Traublinger and deserved the greatest respect.
(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)
According to First Commander Karl Strauss, the number of members in the fire department itself was 103 last year, 46 of whom were on active duty.
Among the services provided: The comrades had to work 146 hours on fire operations, 161 hours on security guards and 392 as part of technical assistance.
The total number of hours, which also includes exercises, maintenance or service meetings, was over 2,500. The Enzelhausen Floriansjünger had to go out a total of 54 times.
The flooding during their 150th anniversary celebrations in Rudelzhausen presented the Enzelhausen fire department with major challenges.

Comrades quickly agree: amount of volunteer work allowance for the board
And what is it actually like for young people?
Youth warden Markus Rank provided information here: The number of junior staff members has remained unchanged since 2022 - at nine.
25 exercises were carried out, including the demanding 24-hour tests in Tegernbach.
By the way, a day-long operation like this will also take place this year.
What's still on the agenda: the MTA training, a flame run and the Bavarian youth performance bar.

But there was something else on the agenda at the annual general meeting: namely the question of whether the volunteer allowance should be increased - and if so, for whom.
The topic is not new, as the fire departments in the district have recently been concerned with it again and again, as the tasks and also the responsibility are increasing.
In the packed Festner-Busch inn in Rudelzhausen, the comrades quickly came to an agreement: for 2024, the general meeting approved a volunteer allowance of 500 euros for each board member.
