A 76-year-old from Unterhaching was deprived of her savings by fake bank employees on Wednesday.
Unterhaching
- At around 9 a.m., a lady called the 76-year-old, posing as an employee at a local bank branch.
She informed the woman from Unterhaching that an IT security consultant would contact her to take the necessary precautions so that her bank account was better protected.
Shortly afterwards, a man called and asked the 76-year-old to make two transfers. She ultimately gave him crucial access data that the fraudster could use to access her account.
Shortly afterwards, the woman discovered that her account had been looted; several thousand euros had been debited, said the press office of the Munich Police Headquarters.
The Commissariat for Property Crimes is now investigating.
