It's the highlight of the year for Chinese smartphone manufacturers.
As the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona closed on Thursday, manufacturers Honor and Xiaomi once again took advantage of the sector's annual mass to unveil all of their new products, starting with their smartphones.
With the Magic 6 Pro for Honor and the Xiaomi 14, the two groups hope to play spoilsport in a market today dominated by Apple and Samsung.
The two hold around 20% market share each, compared to Xiaomi's 13%, according to Counterpoint Research.
Honor, a former subsidiary of Huawei which became independent in 2020 and which in 2023 was the leading seller of Android phones, launched on Sunday, betting with the Magic6 Pro on an ultra-premium model and with quite a few additions around the 'artificial intelligence.
Like Korean giant Samsung, Honor CEO George Zhao believes AI has the potential to revive a moribund industry
