There are 154 forms of shared energy created in Italy, including renewable energy communities (Cer) and collective self-consumption configurations.
Of the 67 configurations created at the end of 2023, Piedmont, Veneto and Trentino-Alto Adige are the regions with the highest number.
These are some of the data emerging from the Legambiente report "Renewable energy communities in Italy", presented at the Key renewables fair in Rimini.
According to Legambiente, this is an important number, considering the bureaucratic and regulatory delays.
But the plants could have been much higher, at least 400 according to the environmental association's estimates, created thanks to the contribution of various different entities (Aess, Caritas, Become, the NextAppenino programme, AzzeroCo2, ènostra, Legacoop, Enel Regalgrid, Foundation with the South, Energy Bank).
Among the realities that could have been developed in recent years, and which can now arise thanks to the recently approved Cer Decree, Legambiente cites the 15 possible energy communities carried out by Caritas, the 55 Ènostra projects and the 105 of the Nextappennino program, the 25 Cers of the Become campaign of Legambiente , KyotoClub, AzzeroCO2 for Small Municipalities.
Regarding the BeCome project, the first 15 feasibility studies were also presented today, which exceeded the hypothesized 3 MW of photovoltaic systems.
