Following the opposition's request, the DNU Bicameral will summon Executive officials - including the Chief of Staff, Nicolás Posse and the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo - to explain the mega decree of deregulation of the economy by
Javier Milei
that repeals or modifies more than 300 laws.
As Clarín reported, the request to summon seven officials was presented via letter last Friday by radical legislators Víctor Zimmermann and Francisco Monti, and federal senator Carlos "Camau" Espínola.
In the commission, Zimmermann reiterated the request and received the support of the PRO deputy Hernán Lombardi and the federal Nicolás Massot and
of the libertarians themselves who accepted the proposal.
"We consider that these summons should be made simultaneously with the treatment of the DNU pending resolution: the 121 pending decrees and if those responsible for those DNU have to be summoned, they should also be summoned," said Oscar Zago, head of La Libertad Avanza block.
However, there are doubts as to whether Caputo and Posse will actually come, since they had been the most sought after during the debate on the Omnibus Law and never agreed to go to Congress.
Also on the list approved by the Bicameral are, among others, the Secretary of Labor Omar Yasín, the Minister of Health, Mario Russo, and the Secretary of State Transformation, Armando Guibert.
Kirchnerism did not even vote for the motion because they assure that
the deadlines for debating the DNU in committee have already expired
and that it is appropriate to vote on it directly in the chamber.
They already requested three special sessions for that, but Victoria Villarruel did not call them.
"You continue with the delay you want. We are going to insist that this DNU and all those who want in the premises be treated. I hope that you ask Villarruel to comply with the Constitution," said the UP senator. Anabel Fernández Sagasti.
