There are said to have been serious arguments again and again during his time in office.
Washington DC - Not only do you have to be willing to compromise in a democracy, arguments are also a part of marriage.
The author Katie Rogers describes in her book “American Woman: The Transformation of the Modern First Lady, from Hillary Clinton to Jill Biden” how much the former first lady Melania and Donald Trump were at loggerheads.
According to Newsweek,
it was already noticeable during the election campaign for the Republican primaries that Melania Trump was unusually often absent.
When Trump was asked about his wife's absence, the 77-year-old replied in a
Fox News
interview: "She will be involved, and she's always played a big role.
She was someone you could rely on.
She’s very smart, a very compassionate person…she also wants to make America great again.”

According to a report in July 2018, the ex-president raged when he saw the first lady watching

During a trip overseas via Air Force One, one of the televisions on board was tuned to

In a rage, Trump ordered the crew to switch all televisions to

immediately .

Another point of contention between the two was the furnishings in the White House, Rogers claims.
While the former president likes it unusual, with pomp and ostentation, Melania wanted to make the interior simpler and more modern, it is said.
The argument resulted in the two sleeping in separate rooms and setting up their rooms separately.
Trump's unwillingness to compromise on politics, it seems, is reflected in his marriage.

Especially when the First Lady and the President are supposed to form a unit, namely in the event of disasters and catastrophes, there are often differences of opinion between the two.
In her book, Rogers described how Trump's statements, particularly in the case of so-called "mass shootings", differed significantly from those of his wife.
One such tragedy occurred in Charlottesville, Virginia at a meeting.
Clashes broke out during the “Unite the Right” rally, organized by “white supremacists”.
A woman was shot dead and five other people were injured by hard-right demonstrators.
From Trump Tower, the president expressed his “dismay”: There were “very great people on both sides.”
Melania, on the other hand, reacted decisively to the violence.
The now 53-year-old wrote on
Nothing good comes from violence.” While it seems that Trump always tries to relativize violence from the right, Melania is probably more liberal in her political views than her husband.
The division in society since Trump's presidency is apparently not only noticeable among Democrats and Republicans.
His harsh rhetoric even has an impact in his private life.
