The skeleton of a man who had been dead for several years was discovered on February 20 near the Perpignan prison, according to AFP, which cites corroborating sources.
According to the deputy prosecutor of Perpignan, Nicolas Brignol, who opened an investigation to find the causes of death, it is
“an almost complete skeleton”
.
“The elements collected already make it possible to identify a person
,” he continued, not wishing to give further details.
However,
“numerous samples were taken and sent to laboratories to identify the body with certainty
,” added the deputy prosecutor.
“An anthropological examination has also been ordered to investigate, if possible, the origin of the death”
which
“certainly dates back several years
,” he said.
According to a source close to the case, this is a man whose skeleton was discovered at the edge of a field near the Perpignan prison.
