Nürburg - A man who barricaded himself in a building at the Nürburgring on Thursday surrendered voluntarily.
“The situation is over,” said a spokesman for the Koblenz police on Thursday morning.
The man was taken into custody.
So no one was injured.
The man had previously barricaded himself in a building in the area of the Nürburgring pit lane.
The police had contact with him and negotiated with him, said the police spokesman.
He had an object similar to a weapon with him.
“We still have to check whether it was a sharp weapon,” said the spokesman.
The background is still unclear.
